We have some new events lined up for Autumn and up to the end of the year. You can follow us on Facebook for all the latest updates.
Sing for your Supper
Join us for Sing for your Supper on Monday 7th October. Pop along to the Bull Shed around 18:30. Join in or just listen. Bring your own instrument if you play. Light refreshments provided.
Pie Night Returns
Pie Night and Meet the Producer on 15th August proved to be very popular. We had a full house in the Bull Shed, enjoying pies kindly donated by GB Maycock and Handley Farm. Thank you to all the Food Hub producers who joined us and brought their wares, and everyone who made the night such a huge success. We raised £210 for Handley Care Farm CIC.
We’re also bringing back pie night. For one night only, every month. Check our online farm shop for tickets.
P.S. 12th September is now sold out. We will open bookings for 10th October soon.
Christmas Wreath Making
Our Christmas Wreath making workshop is sold out - sorry about that! But, watch this space as we may have a second date. You’ll need to be quick if you would like a ticket. If you’re unlucky, get in touch and we’ll add you to the waiting list.
The Bull Shed Reopens
The Bull Shed reopens after our August break on Friday 13th September. We are taking bookings up to mid December. To book, just send a text to 07877 723075.
We’re a CIC
Both Handley Care Farm and Belper Shed are Community Interest Companies (CIC). Each was established earlier this year. A CIC is a charitable organisation (but not a charity) and a not for profit.
Handley Care Farm CIC provides goat and garden therapy for children and young adults with additional or special educational needs.
We’re raising funds to set up the Care Farm by hosting workshops and a range of events throughout the remainder of 2024.
Belper Shed, part of the UK Men’s Sheds Association, will be a space for making and creating, and somewhere that local people can come to find community, alleviate loneliness and isolation, make friends and do something positive.
The shed is being supported by donations of tools, materials, items for the social area. We are immensely grateful to the local businesses who are helping the setup of the shed.
If you would like to support us by donating, volunteering or sponsorship, please get in touch to be involved or to find out more.
News from the Goat Shed

The goats have been loving being in the fields. They don’t always want to come back in! But food usually tempts them home.
Visitors have been enjoying goat experiences on the farm. Lots of opportunities to cuddle the goats, spend time with the kids, walk a goat, and learn about feeding, milking, and taking care of them.
We’ve helped celebrate several birthdays - visitors have enjoyed afternoon tea and Prosecco in the field, and one seven year old had his birthday party with the goats.
Sue makes goats cheese from the milk. You can purchase it on the Food Hub.
Honey Honey Honey
We have a new batch of honey ready to go - in total we’ve had around 300 jars of honey for sale from this year’s harvest. Some very busy little bees!
You can buy Handley Farm honey here.
Thank you for supporting our initiatives at Handley Farm - lots more to come. We hope to welcome you to the farm soon.
